Noémie Goudal’s practice involves the construction of ambitious staged, illusionistic installations within the landscape, documented using film, photography and performances. Goudal’s interventions are under pinned by rigorous research examining the intersection of ecology and anthropology, interrogating the limitations of theoretical conceptions of the natural world. Her current research asks the viewer to assume a macro perspective, considering the evolution of the landscape, and how we situate ourselves within it, as a continually evolving construct.

She has participated in numerous group exhibitions including the Whitechapel Gallery, London, UK (2020); and the Venice Biennale Azerbaijan Pavilion, Venice, IT (2015). Goudal graduated from the Royal College of Art (2010) and works between Paris and London. 'ANIMA’, her performance co-created with the stage director Maëlle Poésy, initially displayed at Collection Lambert as part of the Festival d'Avignon (FR), is presented is 2023 at Centre Pompidou (Paris, FR), Tate Modern (London, UK), Venice Biennale and PS21 Chatham (New York, USA).
As part of a commission from FRAC Nouvelle-Aquitaine La MÉCA, Goudal will present a new project during a group exhibition in Bordeaux (FR) in 2024. The same year, her work will be subject to a solo show at Mostyn Gallery (Llandudno, UK). In 2026, she will unveil a new installation at the Blanc-Mesnil station (FR), mandated by the Société du Grand Paris Express and with the artistic direction of José-Manuel Gonçalvès.
